Klimas expansion anchor KW-8/5x50 metal/plastic wall plug for masonry and concrete
Klimas expansion anchor KW-8/5x50 metal/plastic wall plug for masonry and concrete is a combined metal and plastic fixing element designed to secure screws or bolts in solid substrates. With an 8 mm nominal diameter and 50 mm total length, this anchor uses mechanical expansion to create a firm hold in masonry and concrete. It is intended for light to medium duty installations where a reliable mechanical connection is required between a fixture and a base material.
The metal/plastic construction combines the strength of a metal sleeve with the adaptability of a plastic insert to improve expansion performance and reduce the risk of splitting in the base material. Its 8 mm diameter provides compatibility with a wide range of screws and bolts, while the 50 mm length gives sufficient embedment depth for stable anchoring in common masonry and concrete thicknesses. The anchor is easy to install with standard drilling tools and provides repeatable mechanical performance for consistent fixing results.
Drill a hole in the masonry or concrete with a drill bit matching the anchor nominal diameter and to the required embedment depth. Clean the hole of dust and debris before inserting the anchor flush with the surface. Insert the screw or bolt through the fixture and into the anchor, then tighten to expand the sleeve until the anchor grips the base material securely. Avoid over-tightening which can deform the plastic insert or reduce holding capacity.
Use a hammer drill with masonry bit for clean holes in concrete; confirm the chosen screw diameter and length matches the anchor dimensions and the thickness of the fixture. For heavy loads or hollow substrates, select an appropriate anchor type and follow local building guidance.
