Cable stripper Knipex 12 12 11
The Knipex 12 12 11 cable stripper is designed for precise, repeatable removal of insulating layers from single and multi-layer cables, including difficult-to-strip materials such as PTFE, silicone, Radox®, Kapton® and rubber. The tool has a steel body and a replaceable shaped blade made of oil-hardened special tool steel, and includes a length stop to ensure constant stripping length during repetitive work. A second pair of blades holds the remaining insulation reliably in place, and an additional cable support improves centring of multi-layer insulated conductors in the stripping profiles.
The replaceable shaped blade is precisely adapted to conductor cross-sections, enabling clean, form-fit stripping even on multi-layered and Radox® insulations. The robust steel body and oil-hardened tool-steel blade provide durability under frequent use. The integrated length stop and second blade pair increase efficiency and consistency for repetitive tasks, while the additional cable support improves alignment for solar and multi-layer cables.
Place the cable in the stripping profile, centre it using the additional cable support if available, and close the tool so that the shaped blade contacts the insulation. Use the length stop to set the required stripping length for repetitive operations and withdraw the insulation by pulling or rotating the tool as appropriate for the cable type. Replace the shaped blade when wear affects stripping quality.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and ensure the cable is de-energised before stripping. Select the shaped blade matching the conductor cross-section and check blade condition regularly to maintain clean stripping results.
