Cable Stripper Knipex 13 46 165 Red Yellow
The Knipex 13 46 165 Cable Stripper is a compact multifunctional tool designed for dismantling and wire stripping in confined spaces such as deep flush-mounted sockets. With a slim head and angled cable sheath cutter, it enables precise removal of outer sheaths and subsequent stripping of conductor insulation. The pliers include integrated diagonal cutters and two wire-stripping holes for 1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm² conductors. Multi-component insulated handles are VDE tested, and the tool is chrome-plated for corrosion resistance. Dimensions: 165 mm length; stripping capacity approximately 8 mm to 13 mm; MPN 13 46 165, EAN 4003773079699.
The slim head and optimally angled sheath cutter allow ergonomic work in low-lying flush-mounted sockets without excessive contortions. A safety shoulder limits blade penetration to prevent damage to inner insulation while breaking and stripping the sheath. Accurately machined stripping holes for 1.5 and 2.5 mm² conductors and hardened diagonal cutting edges (approx. 61 HRC) enable cutting and stripping without changing tools. Despite multiple functions, the pliers are notably lightweight and feature corrosion-resistant chrome plating. Handles are multi-component and VDE tested for electrical work.
Insert the cable into the angled sheath cutter and perform a twisting cutting motion towards the tool axis until the safety shoulder limits penetration. Bend the cable slightly to break the sheath and pull it off to expose the conductors. For conductor insulation stripping, place the conductor into the appropriate 1.5 mm² or 2.5 mm² stripping hole and pull the tool along the insulation to remove it. Use the integrated diagonal cutters where needed to cut single conductors, small screws or nails. Work with steady hand movements and keep the insulated handles correctly in hand.
Use the correct stripping hole for the conductor cross-section to avoid nicking the conductor. Do not exceed the intended sheath penetration depth; rely on the safety shoulder to protect the inner insulation. For live electrical work, always follow applicable safety procedures and ensure circuits are de-energised despite the VDE-tested insulation.
