Needle-nose pliers Knipex 13 92 200
The Knipex 13 92 200 needle-nose pliers are a multifunctional tool designed for electrical installation work. Made of high-grade special tool steel, forged and oil-hardened, these 200 mm pliers combine six functions in one compact instrument: gripping flat and round material, bending, deburring, cutting cable, stripping conductors and crimping wire-end ferrules. Slim dimensions and a bolted joint provide precise, low-backlash operation and access in confined spaces.
Smooth surfaces near the tips allow secure gripping of single cores without damage, while serrated and pipe-gripping surfaces handle flat and round materials. The jaws include a clear-cut outside edge for working on flush-mounted junction boxes and deburring feed-through holes. Induction-hardened precision cutting edges enable cable shears for copper and aluminium up to 5 x 2.5 mm² or diameter 15 mm. The pliers feature stripping holes for conductors 0.75–1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm² and a crimp die for ferrules 0.5–2.5 mm². An intelligent latching mechanism (spring-assisted version) and an activated locking lever keep the cutting edges closed and protected while other functions remain available.
Use the needle-nose pliers to reach and grip conductors or small components in tight spaces. For stripping, place the conductor in the appropriate stripping hole (0.75–1.5 mm² or 2.5 mm²) and rotate or pull the insulation away as required. Insert ferrules into the crimp die (0.5–2.5 mm²) and compress firmly to form a secure crimp. For cable cutting, position the cable within the precision cutting edges and apply steady pressure; the induction-hardened blades are designed for copper and aluminium cables up to the indicated capacity. Use the smooth tip surfaces to handle single cores gently and the serrated areas or pipe grip for larger or round materials. Engage the locking lever to keep the cutting edges closed when storing or when other functions are in use.
Inspect the pliers before use for wear or damage, especially the cutting edges and crimp die. Do not exceed specified conductor and cable capacities. Keep the joint and cutting edges clean and lightly oiled to maintain precise operation; follow general safety practices for electrical work, including de-energising circuits before making cuts or connections.
