Slip-joint pliers Knipex 87 02 250 T
These Slip-joint pliers Knipex 87 02 250 T combine adjustable gripping with a compact 250 mm length and 370 g weight. They accommodate a maximum pipe diameter of 50 mm and a nut size up to 46 mm, offering reliable gripping surfaces and robust construction for plumbing, mechanical and general maintenance tasks.
The pliers feature a push-button fine adjustment that enables rapid and precise adaptation to different workpiece sizes and a comfortable handle width. A self-locking mechanism on pipes and nuts prevents slipping and reduces the hand force required. The gripping surfaces have specially hardened teeth (approx. 61 HRC) for high wear resistance and secure hold. A box-joint design with a double guide increases stability, while a reliable hinge-bolt catch prevents unintentional shifting. A finger guard reduces the risk of pinching. Made of forged chrome vanadium electric steel with multi-stage oil hardening for long service life.
Select the appropriate jaw opening by pressing the adjustment button and sliding the head until it matches the workpiece size. Position the pliers on the pipe or nut so the hardened teeth fully engage, then apply steady turning force. Use the self-locking function for stable holding with reduced grip effort. Keep fingers behind the guard while operating to avoid pinching.
Inspect the gripping teeth for wear before regular use and avoid using the pliers on live electrical circuits unless insulated tools are used. Store in a dry place and apply light oil to the joint periodically to maintain smooth adjustment.
