Slip-joint pliers Knipex 87 02 300 T
The Knipex 87 02 300 T slip-joint pliers are versatile pliers for gripping and turning workpieces. They measure 300 mm in length, weigh 600 g and accept a maximum pipe diameter of 70 mm and nut sizes up to 60 mm. Constructed from chrome vanadium electric steel, forged and multi-stage oil-hardened, they combine a box-joint double guide with hardened gripping surfaces for stable, wear-resistant performance.
Fine adjustment by pushing the button allows quick adaptation to different workpiece sizes and provides a comfortable handle width. The self-locking function on pipes and nuts prevents slipping and reduces the hand force required. Hardened teeth (approx. 61 HRC) on the gripping surfaces ensure high wear resistance and reliable hold. The box-joint design increases stability through a double guide, the hinge bolt is positively caught to prevent unintentional shifting, and an integrated guard reduces the risk of pinched fingers.
Push the adjustment button to set the jaw width to the required size for the workpiece, then close the handles until the pliers self-lock on the pipe or nut. Use the hardened gripping surfaces to hold the workpiece securely and apply turning force through the handles. Release the self-locking mechanism by opening the handles or readjusting with the button as needed. Store the pliers clean and dry after use to protect the steel finish.
Use the pliers within the specified maximum pipe diameter and nut size. Avoid excessive force beyond normal hand operation to prevent damage to the tool or workpiece. Regularly inspect gripping teeth for wear and keep the hinge area lightly lubricated for smooth adjustment.
