Tongue-and-groove pliers Knipex 88 02 300
The Knipex 88 02 300 tongue-and-groove pliers provide a robust and precise gripping tool for plumbing, installation and maintenance tasks. With a length of 300 mm and hardened gripping surfaces, these pliers are designed for dependable performance on pipes and nuts up to the specified capacities.
Compared with conventional water pump pliers of the same length, these pliers offer more output and comfort thanks to a 9‑notch adjustment that increases gripping capacity by up to 30%. The slim head and joint give good access to the workpiece, while the box‑joint design with double guide provides high stability. Special hardened teeth (approx. 61 HRC) ensure high wear resistance and stable gripping. The pliers are self‑locking on pipes and nuts to prevent slipping and reduce required hand force. They are made from chrome vanadium electric steel, forged and oil‑hardened, with a robust, dirt‑insensitive construction and a guard to protect fingers.
Select the appropriate notch to set the jaw opening to the required size, position the pliers on the pipe or nut so the hardened teeth engage the workpiece, and apply steady hand force. The self‑locking action will hold the workpiece; adjust the grip if necessary by releasing and repositioning to a different notch. Use the slim head to reach confined spaces and the box‑joint guidance to maintain alignment during turning or pulling operations.
Inspect the teeth and joint before use and keep the tool clean of heavy deposits; do not use pliers on live electrical circuits. For safe operation, wear appropriate hand protection and avoid excessive force beyond the intended capacity.
