Tongue-and-groove pliers Knipex 88 07 250 Chromium-vanadium steel 250 mm
The Knipex 88 07 250 tongue-and-groove pliers are made from chrome vanadium electric steel with forged, oil‑hardened construction. At 250 mm length and approximately 420 g weight, these pliers combine a slim head and joint area with a sturdy box‑joint design for stable guidance and good access in confined spaces.
Nine-notch adjustment provides about 30% more gripping capacity than conventional water pump pliers of the same length. The pliers lock securely on pipes and nuts to prevent slipping and reduce required hand force. Special hardened teeth (approx. 61 HRC) on the gripping surfaces ensure high wear resistance and reliable holding. The robust construction is insensitive to dirt and suitable for outdoor work, and a guard reduces the risk of pinched fingers.
Select the appropriate notch to match the size of the workpiece, then position the pliers so the box‑joint guides are aligned for maximum stability. Close the handles until the pliers self‑lock on the pipe or nut; minimal additional hand force is required due to the self‑locking design. Use the slim head and joint area to reach into tight spaces and re‑adjust the notch as needed for different diameters.
For durable performance, keep the joint area free of heavy buildup and apply light oil after extended outdoor use. Do not use the pliers as a hammer or for cutting; select the correct notch and avoid excessive sideways forces to preserve the hardened teeth.
