Tongue-and-groove pliers Knipex 88 01 300
The Knipex 88 01 300 tongue-and-groove pliers are designed for gripping and turning pipes and nuts up to 70 mm in diameter and nuts up to 60 mm across. At 300 mm length and 511 g weight, these pliers offer improved leverage, precise adjustment and a slim head profile for good access in confined areas. Constructed from chrome vanadium electric steel, forged and oil-hardened, they are built for stability and outdoor use.
Compared with conventional water pump pliers of the same length, these pliers provide around 30% more gripping capacity thanks to a 9-notch adjustment. The box-joint design with double guide delivers high stability; hardened teeth (approx. 61 HRC) ensure durable, non-slip gripping while the self-locking mechanism reduces required hand force. A finger guard improves operator safety and the robust construction is tolerant of dirt and suitable for outdoor work.
Select the appropriate notch to match the size of the pipe or nut, position the slim head around the workpiece and squeeze the handles until the self-locking action engages. Use the pliers to grip, turn or hold the workpiece while maintaining even pressure. Release the grip by reducing handle pressure and repositioning if necessary. The slim head and narrow joint area help reach confined locations.
Inspect the pliers before use for damage or excessive wear on the teeth; avoid using damaged tools. For long service life, clean off dirt after outdoor use and store in a dry place. Do not use these pliers as a hammer or for cutting hardened parts.
