Crimping tool Knipex 97 21 215
The Knipex 97 21 215 crimping tool is a multifunctional hand tool designed for cutting cables, stripping wire insulation and crimping insulated and non‑insulated terminals, connectors and plug‑type contacts. Made from special high‑strength steel with a plastic grip, it features a bolted joint for increased stability and even movement. The tool is 230 mm long and weighs 224 g, providing a compact, durable option for electrical connection tasks.
The tool combines a robust special‑steel construction with a comfortable plastic handle for extended use. A bolted joint ensures smooth, stable operation and precise alignment of the crimping dies. Threaded holes allow cutting of copper and brass screws of sizes M2.6, M3, M3.5, M4 and M5, reducing the need for additional tools. Its compact dimensions and moderate weight make it suitable for use in confined spaces and for repetitive work.
Position the wire or terminal in the appropriate crimping die and close the handles firmly until the crimp is completed. For cable cutting and screw cutting, place the part into the corresponding threaded hole or cutting slot and operate the handles with steady pressure. Use the bolted joint to ensure even movement during repeated operations. Inspect each crimp visually and, if required, test electrical continuity to confirm a secure connection.
Use the tool only for the intended tasks: cutting cables, stripping insulation and crimping terminals. Regularly check the condition of the crimping dies and the bolted joint, keep the tool clean and lightly lubricated at the joint to maintain smooth operation. Do not use the pliers on live circuits and follow applicable safety procedures when working with electrical systems.
