Compact film camera Kodak M38 35 mm ISO 200-400 1/120s
Compact film camera Kodak M38 35 mm ISO 200-400 1/120s
The Kodak M38 is a compact 35 mm film camera designed for reusable use. It supports ISO 200–400 film, has a fixed-focus lens with a diameter of 3.1 cm, a closest focusing distance of 1 m and a shutter speed of 1/120 s. The camera includes manual film winding and rewinding and a switchable flash (On/Off), providing a simple analogue shooting experience in a lightweight white body.
The Kodak M38 offers straightforward operation with a fixed-focus lens and manual film transport, making it easy to use for quick shots. Its ISO 200–400 compatibility covers common daylight and indoor film types, while the manual flash switch allows control over artificial lighting. The camera's compact size and 0.162 kg weight make it portable and convenient for casual photography.
Load a 35 mm film cartridge rated between ISO 200 and 400, close the back cover and advance the film using the manual winding mechanism until the frame counter indicates the first frame. Compose your shot and hold the camera steady at distances of 1 m or more due to the fixed-focus lens. Set the flash to On when additional light is needed or to Off to shoot with ambient light only. After finishing the roll, rewind the film manually before opening the back to remove the cartridge for development.
The Kodak M38 performs best with daylight or moderate indoor lighting when using ISO 200–400 film. Keep subjects at least 1 m away for acceptable focus, and use the flash for low-light situations or indoor events. Handle the camera gently and wind/rewind film slowly to avoid film damage.
