Screw for Gypsum Board/Metal Koelner/Rawlplug 4.2 x 70 mm (for metal profiles) - pack 0.25 ts
Self-tapping screw by Koelner/Rawlplug for fixing gypsum board to metal structures. The 4.2 x 70 mm length is designed to reach through plasterboard and secure into metal profiles or sheet metal, providing reliable anchoring for partitions, suspended ceilings and drywall constructions. Supplied in a 0.25 ts pack, this screw type is intended for applications where longer fasteners are needed to traverse board thickness and engage thin metal framing.
The screw features a self-tapping thread that cuts into thin metal, eliminating the need for pre-drilling in many cases and speeding up installation. Its length and diameter combination gives sufficient pull-out resistance for standard gypsum board assemblies on metal studs. The head and drive design ensure consistent seating of the board and compatibility with common screwdrivers or screw guns used in drywall work.
This screw is intended for fixing board to thin metal profiles and is not designed for heavy structural loads or fastening into solid timber, concrete, or thick steel sections. For applications requiring high shear strength or certified structural connections, use fasteners specified for those conditions.
Position the gypsum board against the metal profile and drive the screw through the board until the head is flush with or slightly recessed below the board surface without damaging the paper face. Use an appropriate torque setting on a cordless or pneumatic screw gun to avoid over‑driving. When securing into harder or thicker metal, pilot holes may be required; otherwise the self-tapping thread will form its own mating thread in typical drywall metal studs.
Use consistent spacing and appropriate screw density per gypsum board manufacturer guidelines to ensure stable, even panels; avoid over-torquing to prevent crushing the board face.
