Koelner/Rawlplug construction screws partial thread conical head 5.0x35 mm, pack 18
Koelner/Rawlplug construction screws with partial thread and a conical (countersunk) head, size 5.0 x 35 mm, supplied in a pack of 18 are intended for secure joining of wooden and light structural elements where a flush finish is required. These screws are designed for use with drivers and impact tools and provide a controlled pull-together effect thanks to their partial thread, while the conical head sits flush with the material surface to reduce protrusion.
Partial threading concentrates the clamping force on the joined parts, improving pull-together and reducing movement between workpieces. The conical head allows countersinking so the screw sits flush with the surface, producing a neat finish and allowing for easy covering with filler or caps. The screws are supplied in a convenient pack of 18, suitable for small to medium projects, and are compatible with common driver bits and impact drivers for quick installation.
These screws are intended for wood and light structural materials; they are not designed for fastening into masonry, concrete, or heavy steel without appropriate anchors or specialist fasteners. For applications requiring full-thread screws for continuous threading along the shank, or for extremely heavy load-bearing metal connections, a different fastener type should be selected.
Select a suitable driver bit that matches the screw drive and set the driver to the appropriate torque for the material to avoid overdriving or stripping. Pre-drilling a pilot hole is recommended for hardwoods or near edges to reduce splitting; the pilot hole diameter should be matched to the screw core. Drive the screw until the conical head is flush with the workpiece surface. When a fully concealed finish is required, countersink the hole slightly deeper and cover with filler or a plug.
For best results use a pilot hole in dense woods, set the driver torque to avoid head damage, and store the remaining screws in a dry place. When a recessed finish is required, countersink before driving and use wood filler or a decorative cap to conceal the head.
