Construction screws Koelner/Rawlplug 5.0x70 mm partial thread countersunk head 9 pcs
Koelner/Rawlplug construction screws 5.0x70 mm with partial thread and a countersunk (conical) head are designed for secure timber and structural connections where a flush finish is required. Supplied as a set of 9 pieces, these screws suit woodworking and general construction fastening tasks, allowing the screw head to sit level with or below the material surface after installation.
These screws combine a partially threaded shank for tight clamping of joined elements with a countersunk head that provides a neat, recessed finish. The 5.0 mm diameter and 70 mm length offer good shear strength and penetration for medium-thickness timber and composite materials. Supplied in a set of nine, they are convenient for small projects or repair jobs and are compatible with standard drivers designed for conical heads.
These screws are intended primarily for woodworking and general construction; they may not be suitable for heavy structural loads beyond their mechanical capacity or for applications requiring full-length threading. They are not specified for direct use in masonry, metal-to-metal fastening, or outdoor exposed environments unless appropriate corrosion-resistant coatings or stainless variants are used.
Pre-drill a pilot hole appropriate for 5.0 mm screws when working with hardwood or near edges to prevent splitting. Position the components to be joined, insert the screw through the upper part so the unthreaded shank passes within the top piece and the threaded portion engages the lower piece, then drive the screw with a suitable driver until the countersunk head sits flush or just below the surface. For a clean finish, countersink or use a chamfered pilot hole where necessary.
For best results, combine these screws with appropriate pilot holes and, when necessary, pre-countersinking to achieve a flush finish. Use in dry, indoor environments or select coated/stainless alternatives for humid or exterior conditions. When joining load-bearing elements, follow relevant structural guidance and use the correct screw spacing and number of fasteners per joint.
