AV transmitter Kramer Electronics TP-580TXR
The TP-580TXR is an extended-range HDBaseT twisted-pair AV transmitter by Kramer Electronics that converts HDMI, bidirectional RS-232 and IR signals into an HDBaseT signal for transmission to a TP-580RXR receiver. The unit supports up to 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps (3.4 Gbps per graphic channel), HDCP and HDTV compatibility, 3D pass-through, EDID pass-through and a range of up to 130 m in normal mode or up to 180 m in ultra mode (1080p @60Hz @24bpp) when used with Kramer's BC-HDKat6a cable.
The transmitter provides reliable long-distance digital AV extension over twisted-pair cabling using HDBaseT technology, preserving HDMI features such as Deep Color, x.v.Color™, lip sync, uncompressed HDMI audio, Dolby TrueHD, DTS−HD and CEC. It includes bidirectional RS-232 and IR for remote control and status communication, status LEDs for easy diagnostics, and a compact DigiTOOLS® form factor that allows three units to be mounted side-by-side in 1U with an optional RK-3T rack adapter.
Connect the HDMI source, RS-232 and IR control lines to the TP-580TXR inputs and run a suitable Cat6/HDBaseT cable (preferably Kramer's BC-HDKat6a) from the transmitter to the TP-580RXR receiver. Apply the specified 12 V AC power, verify link and status LEDs, and use EDID pass-through if required to match source and display capabilities. For RS-232 or IR control, configure the control system to send commands through the bidirectional interface so the destination device can be controlled remotely.
For optimal performance and maximum range, use Kramer BC-HDKat6a cable and ensure cable quality and connector integrity; transmission distances depend on signal resolution, source and display. When mounting multiple units, use the RK-3T adapter to install three DigiTOOLS® units side-by-side in a 1U rack space.
