Twist drill bit KWB 238610
The KWB 238610 twist drill bit is a precision-ground, right-hand cut tool manufactured to DIN 338 standards with a Type N geometry. It has a titanium nitride (TiN) coating giving a gold appearance and a 135° tip angle, cross-ground to DIN 1412 C for improved self-centering and drilling accuracy. Supplied as a single piece in blister packaging, this cylindrical shank drill is intended for use on a wide range of industrial and workshop materials, offering a surface treatment designed to reduce friction and extend tool life under demanding conditions.
The TiN (titanium nitrided) coating reduces friction and increases surface hardness, improving wear resistance and extending tool life. Precision grinding and cross-ground tip geometry ensure reliable self-centering and accurate hole positioning. Compliance with DIN 338 and DIN 1412 C specifies consistent dimensions and tip form for predictable performance. The gold-coloured finish helps identify the coated tool and indicates improved durability compared with uncoated variants.
Secure the KWB 238610 drill bit in a compatible chuck ensuring the shank is clean and clamped firmly. Select appropriate spindle speed and feed for the material being drilled — lower speeds and steady feed for harder metals, higher speeds for softer metals and plastics. Use cutting fluid when drilling steel and other metals to reduce heat and improve tool life. Begin drilling with light pressure until the cross-ground tip has located the hole, then apply steady pressure to complete the cut. Retract periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes.
Use suitable cooling or lubricating fluid for metal drilling, avoid excessive side loads, and replace the bit once wear degrades cutting performance to maintain hole quality and prevent workpiece damage.
