Masonry drill bit KWB 241640
The KWB 241640 masonry drill bit is designed for use with rotary hammers and features an SDS Plus shank and a self-centring tip for precise starts. Built for drilling in concrete, brick and natural stone, the bit is manufactured with a multi-phase spiral and high-temperature brazed tip to ensure effective material removal, reduced friction and minimal heat build-up during operation.
The SDS Plus shank ensures secure fitting in compatible rotary hammers while the self-centring tip provides accurate positioning without pilot holes. The multi-phase spiral optimises debris evacuation and reduces vibration, and the high-temperature brazing increases tip durability. The bit is certified by the German drill bit testing organisation (PGM) and meets the standards of the German Institute of Building Technology.
Insert the drill bit into an SDS Plus rotary hammer and secure according to the tool manufacturer's instructions. Use right-hand rotation and apply steady, moderate pressure; avoid forcing the bit. Start drilling at low speed to allow the self-centring tip to locate, then increase speed as appropriate for the material. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear debris and allow cooling.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask). Match drill diameter and hammer settings to the material and hole depth. For extended drilling sessions, pause to let the bit cool and remove accumulated dust to prolong tool life.
