Masonry drill bit KWB 242142
The KWB 242142 masonry drill bit is a 210/150 mm SDS Plus hammer drill designed for drilling into hard building materials such as brick and concrete. It features an SDS Plus shank and a self-centring tip for accurate starts. The bit is high-temperature brazed and has a multi-phase spiral profile to optimise debris removal while reducing friction, heat build-up and vibration. It is certified by the German drill bit testing organisation (PGM) and meets standards of the German Institute of Building Technology.
High-temperature brazing increases tip durability and extends service life. The self-centring tip improves drilling accuracy and reduces the need for pilot holes. The multi-phase spiral ensures effective waste removal and lower friction, which reduces heat and vibration during use. SDS Plus shank provides secure, tool-free mounting and compatibility with SDS Plus rotary hammers.
Select an SDS Plus rotary hammer compatible with a 210/150 mm bit and insert the KWB 242142 into the chuck until it locks. Mark the drilling point and use the self-centring tip to start the hole. Apply steady axial pressure and use the hammer function for masonry; avoid excessive lateral force. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear debris if drilling deep holes. After use, clean the flute and store the bit in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask. For reinforced concrete, use controlled drilling speed and consider a pilot hole when necessary. Replace the bit if the cutting performance significantly degrades or if the tip is damaged.
