Spur Drill Bit KWB 511906 6mm
FCE spiral spur (brad point) drill bit KWB 511906 with 6 mm diameter, made of HSS-M2 and precision-ground for industrial quality. The bit has a cylindrical shank, is uncoated and features the TwinLand® groove design plus a patented centring tip and two taper taps to produce drilled holes without ripping. It is specifically suitable for hard wood decking such as bangkirai and Douglas fir, and can also be used in other hard woods, soft woods, chipboard, gypsum plasterboard and plastic. Supplied in a blister for convenient storage and handling.
The precision-ground HSS-M2 construction provides wear resistance and consistent cutting performance. The TwinLand® groove design improves chip evacuation and reduces clogging during drilling. The patented brad point (centering tip) with two taper taps ensures accurate starts and clean hole edges with minimal splintering. The cylindrical shank fits standard chucks and the uncoated finish maintains sharpness suited to woodworking tasks.
Secure the cylindrical shank in a compatible drill chuck and set the drill to the appropriate speed for the material (lower speeds for hard woods, higher speeds for soft woods and plastics). Align the centring tip at the desired drilling point and apply steady, even pressure while keeping the drill perpendicular to the work surface. Allow the TwinLand® grooves to evacuate chips; withdraw the bit periodically for deep holes to clear debris and prevent overheating. After use, store the bit in its blister to protect the cutting edges.
For best results in hardwood decking like bangkirai and Douglas fir, use moderate drilling speed and firm, steady feed pressure. Pre-drilling pilot holes for screws with this 6 mm spur bit will reduce splitting. Do not use excessive side load and avoid prolonged continuous drilling without withdrawing the bit to clear chips.
