Centering drill bit KWB 706318 1.8 cm
Centering drill bit KWB 706318 1.8 cm is a DIN 7483 G centre bit designed for precise wood drilling. Made from tempered special steel with a welded drilling head and a patented serrated precision blade, the bit is optimally sharpened and hardened to produce tear-free borehole edges even at larger diameters. It has a centering tip, low friction and low heat generation, and is suitable for all rotary drills and hammer drills with 10 / 13 mm chucks. The bit is finished in a shining colour with black grooves and is suitable for hard and soft wood, coated chipboard, MDF, veneered and core boards. The single-piece bit (MPN 706318, EAN 4009317063186) is supplied in a blister pack.
The design offers up to 3× longer service life and significantly faster drilling compared to customary centre bits. A welded drilling head with a serrated precision blade ensures extremely precise and easy cuts and tear-free edges. Low slide friction and reduced heat generation improve efficiency, and the bit is compatible with standard 10 / 13 mm chucks. The product specification includes an energy-saving claim of 45% faster drilling, which can reduce drilling time and energy use.
Install the centering drill bit into a compatible drill with a 10 or 13 mm chuck and tighten securely. Position the centering tip on the workpiece where the pilot hole is required, start drilling at low speed to establish the centre, then increase speed as appropriate for the material. Apply steady pressure without forcing the bit; allow the bit to cut and clear chips to avoid overheating. For veneered or coated boards, use controlled speed and steady feed to maintain tear-free edges.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (eye protection and gloves). For best results on large or dense workpieces, allow the bit to cool periodically and clear chips frequently. Match drill speed to the material: lower speeds for dense hardwoods and higher speeds for softwoods and chipboard. Replace the bit when cutting performance or edge quality degrades.
