Centering drill bit KWB 706350
Centering drill bit KWB 706350 is a centre bit designed for precise wood drilling with a 50 mm diameter. Made from tempered special steel with a welded drilling head and a patented serrated precision blade, the bit delivers optimally sharpened and hardened cutting edges for accurate, easy cuts and tear-free borehole edges even at large diameters. It features a centering tip, low sliding friction and reduced heat development. The bit is finished in a shiny colour with black grooves and fits all rotary drills and hammer drills with 10 mm or 13 mm chucks. It is suitable for hard and soft wood, veneered wood, coated chipboard, MDF and core boards.
The KWB 706350 offers increased service life and drilling speed thanks to its hardened cutting edges and serrated precision blade. The centering tip and low friction design improve stability and reduce tear-out at the hole edge. Compared with customary centre bits, it provides up to three times longer life and significantly faster drilling, and is marketed with an energy saving claim of around 45% due to faster material removal and lower heat build-up.
Secure the centering drill bit in a compatible drill chuck (10 mm or 13 mm) and tighten firmly. Align the centering tip with the marked drilling point and start drilling at low speed to allow the tip to centre. Increase speed steadily while applying even pressure; the serrated precision blade will cut cleanly and evacuate chips. For large diameters, keep the drill steady and avoid excessive feed force to minimise heat and prevent tear-out. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes.
Use suitable personal protective equipment (eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask) and secure the workpiece. Match drill speed and feed to the material to maintain blade life; reduce speed for dense or veneered materials. Store the bit dry to prevent corrosion.
