Forstner drill bit KWB 706355
The KWB 706355 Forstner drill bit is a centre/Forstner type bit designed for precise wood processing. Made of tempered special steel with a welded drilling head and a patented serrated precision blade, it produces clean, tear-free bore edges and flat-bottomed holes even at larger diameters. The bit features an effective centering tip, reduced sliding friction and low heat generation, and is compatible with rotary and hammer drills that accept 10 mm or 13 mm chucks. It is suitable for use in hard and soft wood, coated chipboard, MDF, veneered panels and core boards, and is finished in a shining colour with black grooves.
Tempered special steel and hardened, optimally sharpened blades provide high wear resistance and precise cutting. The patented serrated precision blade and welded head ensure tear-free hole edges and flat bottoms. Low friction and reduced heat development extend service life and enable significantly faster drilling—manufacturer states up to three times longer life and 45% faster drilling with 45% energy savings compared with customary centre bits. Compatible with common 10 mm and 13 mm chucks.
Secure the drill bit in a compatible drill chuck (10 mm or 13 mm) and clamp the workpiece to prevent movement. Start drilling at low speed to engage the centering tip, then increase speed as appropriate for the material and hole diameter. Apply steady, even pressure without forcing the bit to avoid overheating. For deep holes, withdraw the bit periodically to clear chips and maintain cutting performance. For best results on veneered or coated boards, support the underside to reduce tear-out.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (eye and hearing protection). Choose drill speeds and feed rates suitable for the material. Inspect the bit before use and replace if blades show significant wear. When drilling veneered or laminated surfaces, place backing support to reduce edge breakout.
