Network Cable Tester PoE Lanberg NT-0403
The Lanberg Network Cable Tester PoE NT-0403 is a handheld diagnostic tool for verifying wiring and basic power-over-Ethernet presence in structured cabling. Designed for testing LAN, phone and USB wiring, the unit evaluates pinout configuration and continuity for cables terminated with RJ-45, RJ-11/RJ12 and USB (A/A, A/B for USB 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0). The tester provides an LCD display and LED indicators to show test results and connection status. Its compact, portable enclosure allows technicians to carry and operate the device on site without a power adapter, as it is supplied without batteries installed.
The NT-0403 combines multi-standard cable compatibility with a simple user interface: an easy-to-read LCD plus LED indicators enable fast interpretation of wiring faults and continuity. The tester’s compact design improves portability for on-site troubleshooting, and included adaptors for RJ11/RJ12 are stored within the battery compartment for convenient access. Support for PoE detection helps confirm the presence of power on Ethernet lines during basic field checks.
Connect one end of the cable to the main unit and the other end to the remote test module or appropriate jack on the tester. Power the unit according to the device’s battery instructions and initiate the test using the front-panel controls. Observe the LCD and LED indicators to determine pin configuration, continuity and whether PoE voltage is present on Ethernet pairs. For RJ-11/RJ12 tests, use the stored adaptors found in the battery compartment; for USB testing, connect the correct A/A or A/B plug types. Interpret faults shown on the display to locate miswires, open circuits or shorted pairs.
Use the tester in dry indoor conditions and avoid exposing the device to excessive moisture or impact. Verify battery condition before field use and store the RJ-11/RJ12 adaptors back in the battery compartment after testing. The device is intended for basic verification and troubleshooting; for advanced network diagnostics or precise cable certification, use dedicated certification tools.
