Console Server Lantronix SLC 8000
The Lantronix SLC 8000 advanced console manager is a modular console server that provides secure remote access to IT equipment and supports scalable deployment. It offers RJ-45 console ports and is suitable for centralized management and troubleshooting of networked devices. The device measures 436.9 x 304.8 x 43.18 mm, weighs 5.03 kg and is designed for AC power (110–230 V depending on region); a 110V AC North American power cord is included, regional power cords are sold separately.
The SLC 8000 combines a modular design with integrated security features, enabling easy expansion of device ports, optional upgrade to dual power supplies and flexibility to add new serial interfaces such as USB. It supports secure remote access via Telnet/SSH or a browser-based console client without proprietary software, includes SSL/SSH encryption, NIST-certified AES encryption and firewall controls, and can connect over dual Gigabit Ethernet for in-band management or via out-of-band options (dial-up modem or cellular gateway sold separately).
Install the SLC 8000 in a standard rack or on a shelf using the supplied mounting options, connect AC power appropriate to your region and attach network cables to the management and public Ethernet ports as required. Populate modular slots with desired port modules or power modules to match your inventory of IT equipment. Access device ports using SSH/Telnet clients or the web browser console client to perform configuration, reboots or firmware updates. For out-of-band access, install optional internal modem or connect a compatible cellular gateway where needed.
For secure operation, configure SSH and SSL, integrate the device with your existing remote authentication system, and enable firewall controls. Keep firmware up to date and, when deploying in critical environments, consider dual power modules and redundant network connections for high availability.
