The Lapp LS 4.6-680 B stainless steel cable tie is a robust fastening solution engineered for demanding industrial applications. Measuring 680 mm in length and 4.6 mm in width, this high-quality tie provides a secure and permanent hold for cables, conduits, and hoses in environments where standard plastic ties would fail. Its construction ensures exceptional durability and resistance to harsh external factors.
Advantages
The primary benefit of this stainless steel cable tie is its superior resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and extreme temperature fluctuations. Unlike nylon alternatives, this material maintains its structural integrity under intense mechanical stress and exposure to UV radiation. The design allows for a reliable, long-term installation that minimizes the need for maintenance or replacement in critical infrastructure projects.
Suitable for
- Securing heavy-duty electrical cables in industrial plants
- Fastening conduits in outdoor or marine environments
- Bundling pipes and hoses in high-temperature areas
- Infrastructure projects requiring fire-resistant fastening solutions
This product may not be suitable for applications involving delicate or soft-jacketed cables where the metal edges could cause damage to the insulation. It is also not recommended for temporary installations that require frequent opening and closing, as the locking mechanism is designed for a permanent, single-use application.
Key specifications
- Material: Stainless steel
- Length: 680 mm
- Width: 4.6 mm
- High temperature resistance
- Corrosion and chemical resistant
To use the cable tie, wrap it around the bundle and insert the end through the self-locking head. Pull the tie tight until it is securely fastened around the cables. Because the tie is made of stainless steel, it is recommended to use a dedicated tensioning tool to achieve the correct tightness and to trim the excess length safely without leaving sharp edges.
What to consider before purchase
- Ensure the length is sufficient for the diameter of your cable bundle
- Verify that the material is compatible with the surrounding chemical environment
- Consider the need for a professional tensioning tool for installation
Usage recommendations: Always wear protective gloves when handling stainless steel cable ties to prevent injury from sharp edges. Ensure the tie is tightened sufficiently to prevent movement, but avoid over-tightening to the point of damaging the cable insulation.
