The LevelOne GVT-0300 SFP fiber optic transceiver provides full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over multi-mode fiber at distances up to 550 meters. It supports 1.25 Gb/s data rate at a nominal wavelength of 850 nm, is MSA-compliant for cross-vendor compatibility, and uses a click-and-latch duplex LC connector. The module is hot-pluggable and intended for short-range network links in switches, converters and similar equipment that accept SFP (Mini-GBIC) transceivers.
The GVT-0300 is compliant with IEEE 802.3z and the SFP MSA, ensuring interoperability with compatible network equipment. It offers a compact, hot-pluggable form factor, low-voltage single 3.3 V supply, TTL signal detect indicator and EEPROM with serial ID for system identification. The duplex LC connector provides a secure physical connection for multimode fiber links up to 550 m.
Insert the SFP transceiver into a compatible SFP slot on a switch, converter or other networking device until the click-and-latch secures the module. Connect duplex multimode fiber patch cords to the LC connector. Ensure both ends of the link use compatible transceivers and matching fiber type. Observe system power requirements and verify the device recognizes the module via the TTL signal detect indicator or host EEPROM ID.
Use multimode fiber cabling rated for Gigabit-Ethernet and keep link distances within 550 m to maintain signal integrity. Avoid forcing the LC connector during insertion, and handle the transceiver by its housing to prevent contamination of optical interfaces. Match transceiver wavelength and multimode fiber specifications at both ends for reliable operation.
