Fiber Test Device Lightwin FIBERCHECKER 10MW, 655nm ±10nm, 2.5mm Ferrule, 10 mW
Lightwin FIBERCHECKER 10MW is a compact fiber test device that emits a visible red light at 655 nm ±10 nm with an output power of 10 mW. Built for use with 2.5 mm ferrule connectors, it provides a stable visual light source for quick continuity checks and locating breaks or bad connections in multimode and some single-mode fibre assemblies. The unit is intended for on-site verification of optical links, connector mating, and splice points where a visible tracer light simplifies fault finding.
The Lightwin FIBERCHECKER 10MW offers a bright 655 nm red laser output with sufficient power for clear visibility through multimode fibres and for use in short-range or temporary single-mode checks. Its 2.5 mm ferrule compatibility ensures direct connection to common ST, SC and other 2.5 mm ferrule-based connectors. The device is portable and straightforward to operate, enabling fast continuity checks without needing complex test equipment.
This visible red light source is primarily intended for multimode fibre and short-range visible tracing; it may not be appropriate for routine testing of long-haul single-mode networks where infrared light sources and power meters or OTDRs are required. It does not replace calibrated optical power meters or certification equipment for formal test reports.
Connect the FIBERCHECKER 10MW directly to the 2.5 mm ferrule connector of the fibre under test. Activate the light source and observe the far end or exposed fibre for visible red light to confirm continuity or to trace the routing. Use the device to illuminate connector end faces or patchcords while inspecting for breaks, bends or poor mating. Follow standard safety precautions to avoid direct eye exposure to the light source.
Use the Lightwin FIBERCHECKER 10MW for quick visual tracing and continuity verification during installations and troubleshooting. For formal loss measurements or long-distance single-mode testing, combine this device with appropriate power meters or OTDR equipment. Always wear appropriate eye protection if there is risk of direct exposure and follow local safety guidelines when operating visible light sources.
