The Lindy 8m USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable Pro enables a computer to connect to USB 3.0 SuperSpeed peripherals over extended distances. It supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and uses active electronics and locking connectors to maintain signal integrity for reliable long-distance USB 3.0 connections. The cable can be used individually or as part of the Lindy USB 3.0 Active Extension System Pro to achieve longer runs and multi-device distribution.

How to use

Connect the Lindy 8m USB 3.0 Active Extension Cable Pro directly between the host computer and a USB 3.0 peripheral. For installations using multiple extension cables, the first unit connected to the computer must be the 8 m (No. 43158) or 15 m (No. 43229) USB 3.0 Active Extension Pro cable. After the first cable is connected, cascade additional Extension System Pro cables or a compatible hub to extend the run up to a maximum of 40 m, following the system configuration guidelines.

Recommendations

If multiple devices or a high-power USB device will be connected at the far end, use the 10 m Hub Pro unit (No. 43159) with its external power supply as the final element in the extension to ensure adequate power delivery. Remember that USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 host and device compatibility depends on the connector type used; USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1/3.2 Gen 1 support up to 5 Gbps, while USB 3.1 Gen 2/3.2 Gen 2 support up to 10 Gbps.
