Lite-On IHAS124 Internal DVD Super Multi DL Optical Disc Drive, SATA, Black
The Lite-On IHAS124 is a reliable internal DVD Super Multi DL optical disc drive designed for desktop computers. Featuring a standard SATA interface and a classic black finish, this drive provides efficient performance for reading and writing a wide variety of CD and DVD formats. It is engineered to handle high-speed data transfers and offers consistent results for media playback, software installation, and data archiving.
This optical drive incorporates advanced technologies such as SMART-BURN, which prevents buffer under-run errors and optimizes writing strategies for superior disc quality. The integrated SMART-X function intelligently adjusts data extraction speeds based on disc quality and system requirements, while the ABS system effectively minimizes vibration and noise during operation. With support for double-layer recording and a broad range of disc formats, it ensures versatility for various digital storage needs.
This device is designed exclusively for desktop computers with an available 5.25-inch drive bay and a SATA connection. It is not compatible with laptops, ultrabooks, or any devices lacking an internal optical drive slot. Furthermore, it does not support Blu-ray disc formats.
To install the drive, power off your desktop computer, disconnect the power supply, and open the chassis. Secure the drive into an available 5.25-inch bay and connect the SATA data cable to the motherboard and the SATA power cable to the power supply unit. Once installed and the computer is restarted, the operating system will typically detect the drive automatically without the need for additional drivers. To use, press the eject button to open the tray, place your disc label-side up, and gently push the tray back in.
For optimal performance and to maintain the longevity of the drive, keep the optical lens clean and avoid using damaged or heavily scratched discs. Always allow the drive to finish the burning process completely before attempting to eject the media.
