Tube bending spring (external) 20 mm — LOGO-Tools model 2,12
The LOGO-Tools Tube bending spring (external) 20 mm — model 2,12 is a metal coil designed to support thin-walled tubes during manual bending. Intended for use with pipes around 20 mm in diameter, the external spring slips over the outside of copper, aluminium or thin steel tubing to reduce wrinkling, flattening and local collapse. The device is compact, easy to position and compatible with common plumbing and HVAC tube sizes where controlled, even bends are required.
The external bending spring provides uniform support along the bend radius, helping to maintain the tube cross-section and minimize internal stress concentrations. Its metal construction ensures durability for repeated use, while the open-coil design allows it to slide smoothly along the tube during bending operations. The spring is lightweight and portable, enabling use on-site without specialized equipment.
Slide the spring over the end of the tube until it covers the area where the bend will be formed. Secure the tube at the desired bend point, then perform the bend manually around a form or by hand while keeping the spring aligned with the bending zone. The spring supports the tube wall during bending and should be allowed to move slightly to follow the curvature. After forming the bend, slide the spring off and inspect the tube for consistent cross-section and any surface deformation.
Use the spring only on tubes with wall thicknesses and materials compatible with external support; avoid excessive force or bending radii smaller than recommended for the tube material. For repeated or precision bends consider combining the spring with a bending form or tube bender. Inspect the spring before use for deformation or damage that could impair sliding or tube protection.
