Angle Grinder Makita GA041GZ
The Makita GA041GZ angle grinder is a cordless 40V XGT tool designed for grinding and surface preparation with a 125 mm (12.5 cm) disc. With a maximum no-load speed of 8500 RPM and a minimum of 3000 RPM, this model offers variable-speed capability suitable for a range of materials. The unit weighs 5.3 kg and has a compact body profile (476 mm width, 140 mm height) finished in black and blue. The battery and charger are not included, allowing compatibility with the 40V Lithium‑Ion XGT battery ecosystem.
The GA041GZ provides cordless mobility and the power range needed for metalworking, masonry and general fabrication tasks thanks to its 40V system and high top speed. Its relatively compact dimensions and an ergonomic layout help with maneuvering in confined spaces. The variable speed range from 3000 to 8500 RPM enables better control when switching between aggressive material removal and finer finishing work. The dual-colour housing offers clear visual identification of the tool during storage or at the jobsite.
This angle grinder may be less suitable for very long continuous heavy-duty industrial use where corded tools or larger stationary grinders provide uninterrupted power and lower operator fatigue. Also, because the battery and charger are not supplied, additional purchase of compatible 40V batteries and a charger is required before operation.
Fit a compatible 125 mm grinding or cutting disc and ensure the disc is rated for the machine's top speed. Insert a charged 40V XGT battery and secure it according to Makita instructions. Select an appropriate speed within the 3000–8500 RPM range for the material and task; lower speeds suit finishing while higher speeds suit aggressive removal. Maintain a firm two-handed grip and follow standard safety procedures including eye, hand and respiratory protection. Allow the tool to reach operating speed before contacting the workpiece and avoid side loading on cutting discs not intended for that use.
Use appropriate disc types for each material, keep spare batteries for uninterrupted work, and perform regular inspection of guards and discs. For heavier continuous tasks, plan battery rotations or consider a corded alternative.
