USB-A Line Extender Manhattan 179300
The Manhattan USB-A Line Extender 179300 extends USB-A device connections up to 60 m (196 ft) using an RJ45 network cable (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A). The kit includes a local and a remote unit that connect via a standard network cable to bridge the distance between a USB device and a PC host without signal loss. The extender is compact, bus‑powered and compatible with Windows and macOS, requiring no drivers or external power supply.
This USB-A line extender supports reliable USB signal transmission up to 60 m with a maximum data rate of 12 Mbit/s and works with Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A cables. Its plug-and-play design and lightweight black housing make it easy to install, transport and integrate into different workspaces. Both local and remote units can be used independently to create custom cable lengths and simplify device placement without additional powering or software.
Connect the local unit to the host PC using the integrated USB-A connector, then link the local and remote units with an RJ45 network cable of the desired length (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A). Attach the USB device to the remote unit’s USB-A port. Power is supplied over the USB bus from the host, so no external adapter or driver installation is needed. Verify the device appears in the operating system and is ready for use.
For best performance, use high-quality Cat5e or higher-rated cables and avoid placing the cable near strong sources of electromagnetic interference. Keep total USB power draw within the limits of the host’s USB port when connecting bus-powered peripherals.
