Manhattan USB-A Line Extender Black 60m RJ45 Cat5e/Cat6
Manhattan USB-A Line Extender Black 60m RJ45 Cat5e/Cat6
The Manhattan USB-A Line Extender lets you position USB devices up to 60 m (196 ft) away from a computer using standard RJ45 network cables (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A). The kit includes a local and a remote unit that connect via a network cable to repeat USB signals without noticeable loss, supporting a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Mbit/s. The extender is bus-powered, compact and compatible with Windows and Macintosh systems.
This wired USB extender overcomes the standard USB distance limitation and enables flexible device placement and neater workspace layouts. It operates without external power supplies or drivers, is lightweight and portable for easy transport, and maintains reliable USB connectivity for peripherals such as keyboards, mice, barcode scanners and printers up to 60 m away.
Connect the local unit to the host computer using the USB-A connector, then link the local and remote units using an RJ45 network cable of the required length (Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6A). Attach the USB device to the remote unit. The units are plug-and-play on Windows and Macintosh systems and do not require driver installation. Ensure the total cable run does not exceed 60 m to maintain proper signal transmission and the supported 12 Mbit/s throughput.
Use good-quality shielded Cat5e or better (Cat6/Cat6A) cables for reliable performance and keep the cable route away from strong electromagnetic interference sources. The extender is intended for standard USB peripherals that operate within a 12 Mbit/s transfer rate; high-bandwidth USB devices may not achieve full functionality.
