Lens Step-Up/Step-Down Ring Massa SB545 58mm to 58mm
Lens Step-Up/Step-Down Ring Massa SB545 58mm to 58mm
Massa SB545 is a metal step-up/step-down ring designed for photographic lenses with a 58mm thread. It provides a simple mechanical adapter to mount 58mm filters, caps, converters or other accessories on lenses with the same 58mm thread, or to reconcile filter threads when swapping accessories. The adapter is made to maintain a secure connection while keeping alignment and thread engagement consistent for routine photographic work.
The metal construction of the Massa SB545 offers reliable mechanical strength and resistance to wear compared with plastic alternatives. Its precise machining ensures consistent thread fit and alignment, reducing the risk of cross-threading or loosened accessories. The ring is thin and unobtrusive in use, preserving working distance and allowing filters and converters to be attached without introducing significant vignetting when used with compatible optics.
To use the Massa SB545, screw the ring onto the lens front thread or onto the accessory thread, aligning threads before turning to avoid cross-threading. Once the adapter is engaged, attach the desired 58mm filter, cap or converter by screwing it onto the opposite side of the ring until hand-tight. For removal, hold the lens steady and unscrew the accessory first, then the adapter if needed. No tools are required for normal mounting and removal.
Ensure threads are clean and free of debris before mounting to maintain smooth engagement. Hand-tighten only; avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to lens or accessory threads. When using stacked filters or wide-angle lenses, check for vignetting and, if necessary, use slim-profile filters or move the adapter to an alternative configuration.
