Drill bit for concrete MEGA SDS+ 16 mm (model 81640)
MEGA SDS+ 16 mm drill bit is a carbide-tipped masonry drill designed for use with SDS+ rotary hammers. Intended for drilling into concrete, reinforced concrete and general masonry, the 16 mm diameter bit delivers stable, efficient material removal and long service life when used for anchor holes, through-holes and preparatory drilling in construction and renovation projects.
The carbide tip and optimized flute geometry provide reliable impact resistance and fast dust evacuation for consistent drilling speed. The SDS+ shank ensures secure retention and quick bit changes in compatible rotary hammers. The 16 mm working diameter offers a standard size for many anchor and fastening applications, while the hardened body improves resistance to wear and bending during heavy-duty use.
Install the bit into a compatible SDS+ rotary hammer following the tool manufacturer's instructions until it locks securely. Select the hammer or rotary hammer mode appropriate for masonry drilling and set a suitable drilling speed and impact frequency for the material. Position the tip on the marked drilling point, apply steady forward pressure without forcing the tool, and allow the hammer action to advance the bit. Withdraw periodically to clear dust from the hole when drilling deep or through dense concrete. After use, clean the bit flutes and inspect the carbide tip for wear before storage.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask. For reinforced concrete, start with a slower feed and moderate pressure to prevent premature tip wear; if drilling large-depth holes, clear debris regularly to maintain drilling efficiency. Ensure the rotary hammer is suitable for SDS+ bits and matched to the bit diameter for best performance.
