Drill Bit MEGA SDS+ 26 mm for concrete, model 82640
MEGA SDS+ 26 mm drill bit model 82640 is a masonry drill designed for drilling straight holes in concrete, reinforced concrete, brick and other masonry materials. Built for use with SDS+ rotary hammers, this 26 mm diameter bit provides a balance of size and durability for common anchoring, fixing and through-hole tasks in construction and renovation work.
The MEGA SDS+ 26 mm bit features a carbide tip geometry optimized for efficient percussive drilling into hard substrates while preserving bit life. Its SDS+ shank ensures secure retention and rapid bit changes in compatible rotary hammers. The bit’s length and robust flute design help evacuate dust and chips to maintain drilling progress and reduce binding during deeper holes.
Install the MEGA SDS+ 26 mm drill bit into an SDS+ rotary hammer according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions until it locks into place. Select the rotary hammer’s hammering/drilling mode appropriate for masonry work, align the bit perpendicular to the work surface, and start drilling at low speed to establish a guide. Apply steady, moderate pressure—allowing the tool’s percussion action to do the work—avoid excessive force which can overheat the bit or damage the substrate. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear dust and chips, especially when drilling deep holes, and maintain a straight drilling line for accurate hole placement.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask or vacuum dust extraction when drilling masonry. Match drill depth to anchor specifications and verify compatibility of the rotary hammer with SDS+ shank bits. For reinforced concrete, proceed carefully to minimize contact time with rebar and consider a smaller pilot hole or specialized rebar-cutting bits if repeated contact occurs.
