Extension Tube Set Meike for Canon AF — ME-MKC-AF1 (macro extension tubes)
Extension Tube Set Meike for Canon AF — ME-MKC-AF1 is a set of macro extension tubes designed for Canon autofocus lens mounts. The tubes increase the distance between the lens and the camera sensor, allowing standard Canon AF lenses to focus closer and achieve higher magnification without adding optical elements. This design preserves the original lens optics while enabling macro and close-up photography by reducing the minimum focus distance and enlarging small subjects.
The Meike extension tubes maintain mechanical and electrical connections with Canon AF lenses, preserving autofocus and aperture control where supported by the lens and camera body. Because they contain no optical elements, image quality is not degraded by additional glass; instead, magnification is achieved through increased flange focal distance. The tubes are lightweight and compact, easy to mount and remove, and compatible with a variety of Canon AF lenses, providing a cost-effective way to explore macro photography without purchasing a dedicated macro lens.
Attach the chosen extension tube or combination of tubes between the camera body and the Canon AF lens by aligning the bayonet mounts and locking into place. Use the camera and lens controls as usual; depending on the lens and camera model, autofocus and aperture control may remain functional. Compose and focus carefully, as the effective focus range becomes narrower and working distance decreases. Adjust exposure settings to compensate for light loss caused by the increased distance between lens and sensor. Remove the tubes to return the lens to its original focal performance.
For best results, start with single-tube setups to evaluate magnification and working distance, then stack additional tubes if greater enlargement is required. Use a tripod or other support to stabilize the camera at close focusing distances, and consider manual focus or focus stacking techniques to achieve precise sharpness. Pay attention to lighting—macro subjects often benefit from additional light or diffused flash to maintain adequate exposure and reveal fine detail.
