Tabletop router Mercusys MW302R Single-band 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4
Tabletop router Mercusys MW302R Single-band 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4
The Mercusys MW302R is a tabletop wireless router that operates on the single 2.4 GHz band using the Wi‑Fi 4 (802.11n) standard. Designed for home and small office networks, it provides a maximum WLAN throughput of up to 300 Mbit/s and offers three Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s) LAN ports for wired devices. The compact white enclosure houses essential features for basic internet access and local networking while supporting legacy 802.11b/g devices.
The router combines an easy-to-deploy tabletop form factor with straightforward configuration and stable 2.4 GHz coverage. With support for WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK security algorithms, it protects wireless connections with commonly used encryption methods. Fast Ethernet LAN ports allow reliable wired connections for desktops, smart TVs or networked printers, and the 300 Mbit/s maximum wireless rate is sufficient for web browsing, streaming in standard definition and routine file transfers.
Place the Mercusys MW302R on a flat tabletop in a central position relative to the area you want to cover. Connect the router to your modem or incoming internet source using an Ethernet cable into the WAN port, then plug in the power adapter and switch the device on. Use a computer or mobile device to connect to the router’s default wireless network or a LAN port for initial setup, then open a web browser and follow the on‑screen setup wizard to configure SSID, Wi‑Fi password and security mode (WPA‑PSK/WPA2‑PSK). Save settings and reboot the router if prompted.
For consistent 2.4 GHz coverage, position the router away from metal obstacles and large electronic devices that may cause interference. Use WPA2‑PSK where available and choose a strong password to secure the wireless network. For devices requiring higher bandwidth or lower latency, prefer wired connections to the Fast Ethernet ports. If multiple high‑bandwidth applications are needed, consider upgrading to a dual‑band or Wi‑Fi 5/6 router.
