Product information

Description

The Metabo KH 18 LTX BL 28 Q is a cordless combination hammer designed for hammer drilling, standard drilling and chiselling. Powered by an 18V battery and a brushless motor, it delivers high drilling performance and long service life while remaining compact and relatively lightweight for a battery-powered tool. The tool includes an integrated extraction interface for dust-controlled drilling when used with a compatible dust extractor.

Advantages

Brushless motor technology provides higher efficiency, greater power and longer life compared with brushed motors. The integrated Metabo VibraTech (MVT) damping system reduces vibration exposure during operation. Quick-change Metabo Quick system allows switching between an SDS Plus hammer chuck and a keyless chuck for versatile bit use. Electronic features such as Vario-Tacho-Constamatic full-wave electronics, soft start and optional reduced speed/impact energy support controlled starts and work in softer materials. Safety functions include mechanical decoupling plus sensor-controlled shut-off to minimise kick-back if a bit jams. An LED work light improves visibility at the drilling site.

Suitable for

  • Hammer drilling into concrete and masonry
  • Standard drilling into wood, metal and plastics
  • Light chiselling and removal work
  • Dust-controlled drilling when used with a compatible extractor

Key specifications

  • Power supply: 18 V battery system
  • Drive type: brushless motor
  • Maximum drilling diameter in concrete: up to 28 mm
  • Functions: hammer drilling, drilling, chiselling
  • Chuck system: SDS Plus with quick-change option to keyless chuck
  • Weight (approx.): 3.4 kg (tool only, without battery)
  • Speed: up to 1000 RPM (no-load)
  • Built-in features: vibration damping system, LED work light, soft start

How to use

Select the required function (hammer drilling, drilling or chiselling) and fit the appropriate bit or chisel. Insert a charged 18V battery from the compatible battery platform and set the desired speed or select the reduced speed/impact energy mode if starting a hole or working in softer materials. For dust-free drilling, attach a compatible compact dust extractor to the integrated extraction interface and follow the extractor manufacturer’s instructions. Start the tool with the trigger and use steady pressure without forcing; allow the tool and hammer action to do the work. If the bit binds, release the trigger immediately and let the tool stop; the mechanical decoupling and sensor-controlled shut-off reduce kick-back risk.

Usage recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (eye, ear and respiratory protection) when hammer drilling. Match drill bits and chisels to the material and application. For dust-sensitive environments, always use a compatible dust extractor with the integrated extraction interface and follow local dust-control regulations.

3.4 kg
Power source: What is providing power for the product e.g. mains electricity.
Battery
Drilling diameter in concrete (max): The maximum width of the hole which can be drilled in concrete.
28 mm
Chuck type: A chuck is a specialized type of clamp used to hold an object, usually an object with radial symmetry, especially a cylindrical object. It is most commonly used to hold a rotating tool (such as the drill bit in a power tool) or a rotating workpiece (such as the bar or blank in the headstock spindle of a lathe).
SDS Plus
Chiseling: The product includes a feature to employ a chisel, a wedge-like tool used to cut or shape e.g. wood or stone.
Yes
Hammer drilling: Also known as hammer drilling, this is use of a rotary drill with a hammering action. The hammering action provides a short, rapid hammer thrust to pulverize relatively brittle material and provide quicker drilling with less effort. These tools are usually electrically powered, and increasingly powered by batteries. The same technology is also used in electric "demolition hammers", also known as "chipping guns" or "breakers".
Yes
Drilling: The device features the option to drill with it, i.e. bore a hole in hard materials using a bit for rotating abrasion.
