MetzConnect 130855-E is a 1U, 19-inch rack-mount patch panel designed for structured cabling in data centres, server rooms and enterprise network closets. The silver-anodized aluminium panel features 24 individually shielded RJ45 jacks rated for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and supports Remote Powering (PoE) in accordance with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at as well as IEEE 802.3an signalling. The unit is compact (482.6 mm × 44.5 mm × 90.5 mm) and compliant with RoHS, providing a tested link performance up to 500 MHz and full Class EA compatibility for high-speed network installations.

How to use

Mount the patch panel in a standard 19-inch rack taking up 1U of vertical space. Terminate horizontal cabling onto the LSA insulation-displacement connectors following the conductor colour code to TIA/EIA 568A; the design permits routing wire pairs to the terminal without untwisting the pairs to maintain transmission characteristics. Secure cables with optional cable ties for strain relief and ensure the panel is connected to the rack grounding rail. Plug equipment-side patch cords into the front RJ45 jacks to establish network links and, when required, enable PoE from a compatible power-sourcing equipment (PSE) to power connected devices.

Usage recommendations

For optimal performance of 10 Gigabit links, use shielded category cabling certified to the same performance class, maintain cable bend radii according to manufacturer guidance, and avoid untwisting pairs beyond the minimum required for termination. Verify PoE power budgets on the PSE side before connecting multiple powered devices and ensure proper grounding of the panel and rack to reduce interference and maintain shield continuity.
