Video cable adapter Microconnect 50990 2 m DVI-I VGA (D-Sub) Black
The Microconnect 50990 2 m DVI-I to VGA (D-Sub) video cable adapter provides a straightforward passive connection between a DVI-I video output and a VGA display. Designed for single-link analog signals carried by the DVI-I connector, the adapter enables legacy VGA monitors and projectors to receive video from devices with DVI-I ports. The compact black cable and molded connectors offer a simple, transportable solution for temporary or permanent setups where digital-to-analog conversion is not required.
This 2 m adapter supports reliable analog video transmission from DVI-I outputs to VGA inputs without requiring external power. The molded connectors and standard D-Sub housing provide secure mechanical contact and easy plug-and-play use. At 160 g and 2 m length, the cable balances flexibility and reach for desktop and meeting-room arrangements while remaining easy to store and carry.
Ensure both the source device and the display are powered off before connecting the cable. Insert the DVI-I connector firmly into the DVI output on the source device and secure the VGA connector to the display’s D-Sub input using the thumbscrews. Power on the display and the source device, then select the appropriate input on the monitor or projector. Adjust the output resolution on the source device if necessary to match the native resolution of the VGA display.
Use this adapter only where the DVI-I port provides analog signal pins; it does not convert digital-only DVI signals to VGA. For long-term installations, avoid tight bending near the connector ends and keep the cable away from high-interference power cables to maintain stable video quality.
