Tabletop router Mikrotik hAP ax³ Dual-band Wi-Fi 6
The Mikrotik hAP ax³ Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 tabletop router provides high-performance wireless and wired connectivity for home or small office environments. Featuring Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and a maximum WLAN throughput of 1200 Mbit/s, this compact black router combines a quad-core Qualcomm CPU at 1.8 GHz with 1 GB of RAM to handle typical network services and demanding tasks. External antennas deliver up to 5.5 dBi gain and four Gigabit Ethernet ports enable reliable wired connections. A USB port expands functionality for storage or additional modems, and multiple power options increase deployment flexibility.
The device balances strong wireless performance with capable routing hardware: the Wi‑Fi 6 standard improves throughput and efficiency on both frequency bands while the 1.8 GHz processor and 1 GB memory allow for advanced firewall rules, VPN tunnels and routing services without significant slowdowns. External antennas provide extended coverage and signal gain, reducing the need for additional range extenders. Built‑in Gigabit Ethernet ports support stable wired connections for streaming and gaming, and the USB port enables storage sharing or LTE modem connectivity. The router includes modern software features and security support to meet contemporary home and small office requirements.
Place the router on a stable tabletop location centrally positioned relative to your coverage area and connect the power supply or PoE‑in option. Attach wired devices to the Gigabit LAN ports and connect any external USB storage or LTE modem if required. Access the router configuration through the provided management interface to set up SSIDs, security (including WPA3 where available), firewall rules and VPN tunnels. Use the RouterOS configuration tools to customise routing, QoS and other services according to your network needs.
For best wireless coverage, position the router away from large metal objects and at least 1–2 meters above floor level when possible. Use the 5 GHz band for low‑latency applications like gaming and HD streaming, and the 2.4 GHz band for wider coverage and older devices. Keep firmware updated to ensure security patches and feature improvements, and configure strong encryption and unique passwords for each wireless network.
