The hAP ac is a compact dual-band wireless router for home or office use. It supports 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n) and 5 GHz (802.11 a/n/ac) bands, offers Gigabit Ethernet ports and delivers up to 500 Mbit/s data throughput. The device includes an omnidirectional antenna array for flexible placement, a USB port for attaching storage or a 3G/4G modem, PoE output on the last Ethernet port to power other devices, and an SFP cage for fiber modules. The router is finished in white and has a maximum power consumption of 17 W.
The hAP ac provides dual-band wireless connectivity with backward compatibility to legacy 2.4 GHz devices while enabling higher speeds on 5 GHz. Gigabit Ethernet ports let wired devices use full network bandwidth. Built-in features such as PoE output, a USB port and an SFP cage increase deployment flexibility and reduce the need for additional adapters. Omnidirectional antennas and a high-power transmitter help achieve broad indoor coverage.
Place the hAP ac in a central indoor location for best coverage and connect your ISP modem to the WAN-capable Ethernet port. Connect wired devices to any of the Gigabit LAN ports. Configure wireless settings and security through the router’s web interface or management tool. Use the USB port to attach external storage or a compatible 3G/4G modem, and connect an SFP module in the cage if fiber uplink is required. If needed, enable PoE output on the last Ethernet port to power compatible RouterBOARD or other PoE-capable devices.
For optimal performance, keep the router elevated and away from large metal objects or appliances that cause interference; place it centrally relative to your wireless devices and use the 5 GHz band for bandwidth‑sensitive applications when device support is available.
