The MikroTik RB44GE is a wired network card with a PCI Express interface that provides four 10/100/1000T Gigabit Ethernet ports on a single expansion card. It is designed to increase port density and throughput for routers and systems that support PCIe, enabling additional wired connections while conserving other expansion slots.

Advantages

The card uses the Atheros AR8131/M controller and supports checksum offload for IP, TCP and UDP to reduce CPU load and improve network performance. It includes Wake-On-LAN (WOL) with AMD Magic Packet support, IEEE 802.3x flow control, interrupt coalescing, and advanced DSP features such as adaptive equalization and echo/crosstalk cancellation. Built-in Cable Diagnostic Test (CDT) detects open or short cables, estimates cable length and identifies impedance mismatches. Power usage is adjusted based on detected cable length and Green Ethernet / Energy Star 4.0 features are supported.
