Mikrotik Metal 52 ac, 54 Mbit/s, PoE, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz
The MikroTik Metal 52 ac is a weatherproof wireless device with a metallic housing that supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and legacy wireless modes. It features a single Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) port with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, one integrated antenna and a maximum data transfer rate noted at 54 Mbit/s. The unit is designed for outdoor or harsh-environment deployments where a rugged form factor and reliable dual‑band wireless connectivity are required.
The Metal 52 ac adds 802.11ac support and a selectable wireless band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz with up to 80 MHz channel width) while keeping compatibility with older standards (802.11 a/b/g/n). Its Gigabit Ethernet port enables utilization of higher wireless throughput made possible by 802.11ac, and the metallic enclosure provides durability for outdoor installations. Low power consumption and PoE simplify installation and cabling requirements.
Mount the Metal 52 ac in a suitable outdoor location with clear line of sight toward the remote peer or coverage area. Connect a PoE injector or PoE-capable switch to the Gigabit Ethernet port to power the unit and provide network connectivity. Configure wireless settings via MikroTik RouterOS — select the operating band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz), set channel width (up to 80 MHz on 5 GHz for 802.11ac), and apply SSID and security settings. Verify alignment and link quality if used for directional links.
For best performance on the 5 GHz band, use 80 MHz channel width only where spectrum is clean and local regulations allow; otherwise choose narrower channels to reduce interference. Use the Gigabit Ethernet connection to avoid bottlenecks when operating at higher wireless rates and ensure the PoE power source meets the device's power requirements.
