Milesight UG56-L08GL-868M Industrial Indoor LoRaWAN Gateway with LTE, PoE, Wi‑Fi, External Antennas, MQTT, Python-SDK
The Milesight UG56-L08GL-868M is an industrial indoor LoRaWAN gateway designed to aggregate LPWAN data from distributed sensors and deliver it reliably to cloud or on-premise platforms. It combines a LoRa concentrator with integrated LTE for cellular backhaul, Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified deployment, built-in Wi‑Fi for local connectivity, and external antennas for improved radio performance. The gateway supports MQTT and programmable interfaces including a Python SDK and Node‑RED compatibility for flexible integration into IoT systems.
This Milesight gateway offers multi-transport connectivity with LTE, Ethernet (PoE) and Wi‑Fi to ensure continuous data forwarding even when one link is unavailable. External antennas and a high-performance LoRa concentrator improve uplink and downlink reliability for devices in challenging indoor or semi-indoor environments. Native support for MQTT, a Python SDK and Node‑RED enable straightforward integration, custom processing and remote management. Compact industrial design and PoE power simplify installation in control rooms, telecom closets and edge cabinets.
Install the gateway in a central indoor location with clear access to antennas and cellular signal. Connect power via PoE or an approved power adapter and attach external antennas for LoRa and LTE as recommended by the manufacturer. Configure network backhaul using Ethernet, LTE or Wi‑Fi and set up LoRaWAN parameters such as frequency plan, channels and device profile. Use the web UI or provided SDK tools to register the gateway with your network server and configure MQTT endpoints or integrate Node‑RED flows for data processing.
Place the gateway away from large metal obstructions and maintain recommended antenna separation to maximize LoRa coverage. For critical installations, configure redundant backhaul paths (for example LTE with PoE Ethernet) and enable TLS for MQTT to secure data transport.
