Drill Bit Set MILWAUKEE HSS-Co for Metal, 8 pcs, sizes 1–10 mm
Drill Bit Set MILWAUKEE HSS-Co for Metal, 8 pcs, sizes 1–10 mm
The MILWAUKEE HSS-Co drill bit set for metal contains eight high-speed steel cobalt bits in sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm. Designed specifically for metalworking, these HSS-Co bits combine the cutting speed of high-speed steel with cobalt alloying to improve hardness and heat resistance. The set is intended for workshop, maintenance and professional applications where accurate, repeatable drilling in steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals is required.
The cobalt alloy in these HSS-Co drill bits increases wear resistance and maintains hardness at elevated temperatures, reducing premature dulling during continuous drilling. Ground flutes and precisely finished tips provide consistent centring and improved chip evacuation, lowering the risk of clogging. The selection of eight commonly used diameters covers a wide range of metalworking tasks, enabling quick size changes without searching for individual bits.
Select the appropriate diameter for the required hole and clamp the workpiece securely. Use a suitable drill press or hand drill and set an appropriate rotational speed for the material and bit size to reduce heat buildup. Apply steady feed pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent bit breakage and overheating. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips and, for harder metals, use cutting fluid or coolant to prolong tool life and maintain cutting performance.
For best results, match drill speed to material hardness and bit diameter, use cutting fluid when drilling hardened or thick metal sections, and replace bits that show signs of wear or deformation to ensure consistent hole quality and operator safety.
