Pliers MODECO MN-20-740 bent for internal Seeger rings 250 mm
Bent pliers MODECO MN-20-740 sized 250 mm are designed for installation and removal of internal Seeger (circlip) rings. The tool features angled jaws that reach into recessed ring grooves, enabling precise control when compressing and positioning internal circlips during maintenance, repair and mechanical assembly. Its length and jaw geometry provide leverage and accessibility in confined spaces common to automotive and industrial components.
The bent jaw profile allows access to internal circlip grooves that are difficult to reach with straight pliers. A 250 mm overall length balances reach and control, offering sufficient leverage while remaining maneuverable in tight assemblies. The tool design supports accurate handling of small to medium internal rings, reducing the risk of slipping or damaging components during removal or installation.
Select the pliers when internal circlips must be compressed and removed or positioned inside a bore or recess. Place the bent jaws into the circlip groove, engage both ring ends securely, then squeeze the handles to compress the ring sufficiently to lift it out of the groove or to fit it into the required position. Perform the operation with controlled pressure to prevent distortion of the ring and avoid sudden release. Inspect the ring and groove for damage before reassembly.
Use safety glasses when working with retaining rings to protect eyes from possible spring-back. Choose the appropriate jaw engagement and apply steady pressure; if the ring is corroded or seized, clean the groove and apply penetrating lubricant before attempting removal. Store the pliers in a dry place to prevent corrosion and maintain jaw alignment for reliable operation.
