Bench Vise MODECO MN-35-105 125 mm fixed jaw, metalworking vise
MODECO MN-35-105 125 mm fixed jaw bench vise is a metalworking vise designed for stable clamping in workshop environments. Its fixed-body construction mounts to a workbench and provides a rigid hold for cutting, filing, drilling and assembly operations. The 125 mm jaw width offers a balance between gripping surface and compact footprint, making the vise suitable for general repairs and light mechanical tasks.
The fixed construction ensures low deflection under load and consistent alignment of the jaws. Hardened steel or similarly treated jaw faces resist wear and maintain gripping performance during repetitive use. The compact 125 mm jaw width allows for secure clamping of small to medium workpieces while saving bench space. The design supports easy mounting to a workbench for a permanently available clamping point that is suitable for manual and light-powered operations.
Securely fasten the vise to a stable workbench using appropriate mounting bolts through the base mounting holes. Open the jaws by turning the handle counterclockwise, insert the workpiece between the jaws, then tighten the handle clockwise until the workpiece is held firmly. Ensure the workpiece is positioned so that cutting, filing or drilling forces are directed into the bench and not solely into the vise mechanism. Use appropriate protective equipment and support long or thin workpieces to prevent flexing.
Regularly inspect and clean the lead screw and sliding surfaces; apply light machine oil to moving parts to maintain smooth operation. Do not exceed the intended use for light to moderate loads and avoid using the vise as an anvil. Use soft jaw covers when clamping finished or delicate surfaces to prevent marring.
