Drill bit MODECO SDS+ 5 mm MN-61-117 for concrete
Modeco SDS+ 5 mm drill bit MN-61-117 is designed for drilling through concrete and masonry with SDS+ rotary hammers. The bit features a solid-shank carbide tip and an SDS+ shank for secure mounting and efficient transfer of percussive energy. It is intended to create precise 5 mm diameter holes for anchors, dowels and light installations during construction and renovation work.
The carbide tip provides good wear resistance and maintains cutting performance on abrasive concrete surfaces. The SDS+ shank design enables quick and secure tool insertion and reliable retention during hammer drilling. The 5 mm diameter allows accurate holes for common fasteners used in structural and finishing tasks, while the bit’s geometry helps to evacuate dust and reduce binding in drilled holes.
Insert the SDS+ shank into the hammer drill’s chuck until it locks. Select appropriate rotational speed and hammer mode as recommended by the rotary hammer manufacturer for 5 mm drilling in concrete. Hold the tool perpendicular to the work surface, apply steady forward pressure and allow the hammer action to do the cutting. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear dust and ensure consistent drilling depth. After use, retract the bit and clean dust from the shank and tip to maintain secure mounting and performance.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and a dust mask when drilling concrete. Match drill diameter to the anchor or dowel specification and avoid excessive side loads to prolong bit life. For prolonged or heavy-duty use, monitor tip wear and replace the bit when cutting efficiency declines.
